Growing up as a active, optimistic, but “bring it on” type kid. My mother put me in almost every athletic activity she could, I played year around. I was surrounded by good coaches and mentors, who taught me the fundamentals I live by from a very early age.

I learned to take a personal interest and pride in being on a team. That lesson of teamwork, of everyone working toward a common goal, and having empathy and understanding with the person next to you influenced the way I train in my classes and how I live my life. It’s my job to turn your nervous anxiety into focused energy, encouraging you to do your best each and every workout. It may not be fun every moment, but the success of your accomplishment makes the journey rewarding.

I know it takes both physical and mental toughness to achieve your goals. One of the best things about Crossroads Bootcamp is having that team support. Now, WE work as a team to help YOU reach your goals. With consistency and positive changes, your quality of life can and will improve greatly. Increased physical stamina, confidence and a positive mental attitude…. What more do you want?

One of my favorite sayings is a quote by Carl W Buechner, “They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” It’s my job to help you feel motivated, successful and strong.

So, quit thinking and GET DOING. Let’s give this a shot.

Having two babies in two years wreaked major havoc on my body, I knew I needed to mix it up to get back to my pre-baby body. As an avid long distance runner, my body was used to having the kind of endurance to get through a 26.2 mile race, what it wasn’t used to was flipping tractor tires, running sprints with a medicine ball over my head and doing push ups until I couldn’t find the strength to lift my toothbrush the next day. I truly believe in these workouts, they are an effective use of your time and you WILL reach your goals. I did, and I am now in better shape than I was before I had my children.

With years of group fitness and personal training under my belt, teaching Crossroads Bootcamp classes seemed like a new, exciting challenge for me. I have truly enjoyed coming up with new class formats and teaching styles to continue to mix it up and keep the workouts fresh.

I push my clients to get out of their comfort zones to get maximum results because I know, from personal experience, it’s the only way to get the body you want.

Spreading the word of overall fitness to other has always been a priority of mine. Athletics and strength training has been a major part of my life. Playing sports and keeping active throughout the years has kept me physically and mentally strong for the active life I live. CrossFit and Boot Camp training was introduced to me in August 2009 and I haven’t looked back since. The high-intensity, constantly varied functional movements have changed my perspective on the type of training I should pursue in my life.

I became CrossFit Level 1 Certified in April 2010, teaching CrossFit workouts at my home gym in Indianapolis. I moved to Kansas City at the end of July 2010 and found Crossroads Boot Camp & CrossFit on 18th. My goal for the clients of Crossroads Boot camp is to develop fitness that provides an equal balance of strength, endurance, and mobility. By achieving these aspects in the gym, you will see these results flow into the workplace and in life itself.

Here is a quote that truly has motivated me and hopefully you when coming to our gym…

“If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.” –Bruce Lee

Don’t hold back, go beyond the limits in life…3, 2, 1…GO!!!

Playing football in high school and college and studying exercise science and playing rugby since 2002. All that time I have always strived for the best ways to keep my body in the best physical shape to perform better as an athlete. I joined Crossroads Bootcamp during the opening month and immediatly fell in love with the place.

I have found the CrossFit training method, constantly varied functional movements executed at a high intensity, to be the best overall training program out there, So much so that I got my level 1 Certification and now have the opportunity to teach classes and share this great training method. Stronger than yesterday!

Stephanie says she has always had a heart for fitness. Growing up, she was involved in all types of sports and was very active, so it was a natural fit for her to major in Exercise Science in college. She began learning all about exercise, nutrition, and bio-mechanics of the body and creating her own workouts for herself and friends.

She began teaching fitness classes around the same time and ended up getting her ACE group exercise certification so she could continue teaching after she graduated. Wanting to dig even deeper, Stephanie then chose to go to graduate school and get her doctorate in Physical Therapy; learning even more about how the body works, disease and dysfunction, and how it adapts to training.

She continued teaching group exercise, but it wasn’t until she bought the first Groupon to Crossroads Bootcamp did she truly understand what bootcamp really was, what being an athlete felt like, and how much she could progress her own strength and endurance.

The workouts were intense and constantly changing, something she was craving but yet missing in her own classes and workouts. She was hooked!!! After just a few classes, amazing things started happening; this was the type of training that she could see making amazing changes in her own body and other s around me.

Stephanie was most impressed with the instructors and coaches at Crossroads Bootcamp. “All of the instructors were there for ME and wanted ME to succeed, not something that I have witnessed at any other gym. For this reason and many others, I jumped at the chance to be part of this team so I can help YOU reach your goals and succeed. Crossroads Bootcamp changed my perspective on fitness and I hope it will change yours!”
