Core strength isn’t just a word at Crossroads Bootcamp!

Why do your coaches at KC’s Crossroads Bootcamp want you to understand core strength training?  Because it is fundamental to your success and safety!

Core strength training may be a relatively new, buzz term in the fitness industry but your Crossroads Bootcamp coaches have understood its value as professionals for years.   We know the core region consists of far more than just the abdominal muscles.  We understand that core training targets all the muscles groups that stabilize the spine and pelvis.

It’s these muscle groups that are critical for the transfer of energy from large to small body parts during many sporting activities and many of the athletic training exercises we do at Crossroads Bootcamp!

Watch as Coaches John and Scott explain a simple way to access your core muscles.

What are the benefits of core strength training to all of you as athletes?

  • Greater efficiency of movement

  • Improved body control and balance

  • Increased power output from both the core musculature and peripheral muscles such as the shoulders, arms and legs

  • Reduced risk of injury (the core muscles act as shock absorbers for jumps and rebounds etc.)

  • Improved balance and stability

  • Improved athletic performance!

Expect to see greater attention in your classes on this critical component of fitness as it is fundamental to all of the movements we do to improve our conditioning.    Have some other insights of your own to share?  Please post in the comment box below!
